PRP Treatments

Platelet-rich plasma or PRP injections involve injecting the patient’s own platelets at a high concentration into the site of the tendon injury to promote further healing. This treatment is often a good option prior to pursuing a more invasive surgical intervention. PRP injections are less invasive and can be done in the office. It is important to keep in mind that it may take several rounds of injections for patients to notice an improvement in their symptoms. PRP injections can be used for a variety of conditions but most commonly for lateral epicondylitis of the elbow and rotator cuff tendonitis.
