Dr. Joseph Pyun is a highly skilled spine surgeon with 9 years of experience specializing in minimally invasive techniques. He treats a wide range of conditions, including spinal stenosis, disc herniations, pinched nerves, spondylolisthesis, and spinal cord compression. Dr. Pyun performs advanced procedures such as anterior cervical discectomy and fusion, cervical disc replacement, minimally invasive lumbar fusion, endoscopic discectomy, and lumbar laminectomy. He completed his orthopedic residency at New York Medical College – Westchester Medical Center and a spine surgery fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He holds privileges at several hospitals, including NYU Langone and Hudson Regional Hospital.

Dr. Joseph Pyun completed his orthopedic residency at New York Medical College – Westchester Medical Center from 2010 to 2015. He then advanced his expertise through a spine surgery fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center from 2015 to 2016. This fellowship provided him the opportunity to work at the world-renowned R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, further enhancing his skills in managing complex spinal conditions.

Dr. Joseph Pyun has co-authored several notable research publications in the field of spine surgery and orthopedics. His work includes a study on the incidence of complications in minimally invasive, endoscopic, and robotic-assisted lumbar fusion procedures, published in *World Neurosurgery*. At the University of Maryland Medical Center, he contributed to research on the utility of postoperative radiographs following the surgical treatment of traumatic thoracolumbar injuries, featured in the *Spine Journal*. Additionally, Dr. Pyun co-authored a case report on triquetral autograft for lunate fossa restoration in the *Hand* journal, reflecting his diverse contributions to orthopedic literature.

Dr. Joseph Pyun was born in Jersey City, NJ, to immigrants from South Korea and grew up in Livingston, NJ. After attending Livingston High School, he went on to Rutgers University – New Brunswick, where he graduated summa cum laude and majored in biological sciences. In his free time, Dr. Pyun enjoys traveling, movies, exercising, football, basketball, and spending quality time with his wife and two daughters.
