Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is characterized by symptoms such as pain/numbness/tingling in the hands and weakness when gripping. Treatment may range from bracing or corticosteroid injections to surgery.
Wrist Arthritis
Wrist arthritis may occur post-traumatically or as a result of inflammation or osteoarthritis. The condition can often be managed conservatively with bracing, NSAIDs, and cortisone injections, but a partial or total wrist fusion, four-corner fusion, or other wrist surgery may be considered in severe cases.
Trigger Finger Release
If you experience bothersome clicking/locking of your finger or difficulty straightening it and conservative treatment options have not resolved the issue, it may be time to consider a percutaneous or open trigger finger release.
Wrist Tendonitis
Wrist tendonitis generally presents with pain over the thumb side of the wrist triggered by movements such as lifting, pinching, or grasping. The condition can often be managed conservatively, but De Quervain’s Tendon Release surgery may be recommended, depending on the circumstances.

Frozen Shoulder
Frozen shoulder is a condition characterized by shoulder pain and loss of motion, usually between the ages of 40-60. Surgical intervention is rare and the condition is usually treated with cortisone injections and extensive physical therapy.
Shoulder Dislocation
Shoulder Dislocations are common injuries. They can occur in patients of all ages, but are especially frequent in young student athletes. These injuries often occur from direct trauma to the shoulder area during sport when trauma occurs to the shoulder while it’s in an awkward position. At times these injuries can spontaneously reduce (go back in place) at the time of the injury, while other times they require the patient to visit the emergency room to have the shoulder relocated. Even when the shoulder is put back in place successfully, there are labral tears and possible fractures that should be evaluated. While non-operative care is often possible, sometimes surgical repair of these structures can give the shoulder the best chance to be as close to normal as possible for the future. Our surgeons at Modern Orthopaedics are shoulder experts who will examine your shoulder and perform advanced imaging with X-ray and MRI. Each shoulder dislocation can have a unique pattern that determines the patient’s risk of re-dislocation in the future. Our experts will help you come up with a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
Rotator Cuff Tears
At Modern Orthopaedics of New Jersey, our shoulder experts often treat partial-thickness rotator cuff tears using conservative treatment approaches and perform minimally invasive arthroscopic rotator cuff repair surgery to address full-thickness tears.
Shoulder Impingement
Shoulder impingement is a painful condition that occurs when the muscles of the rotator cuff become irritated/inflamed and pinched beneath the top outer edge of the shoulder blade. In severe cases, subacromial decompression surgery may be recommended.
